THE COPPER QUEENS : KAMANGA’S PROUD PET PROJECT
THE COPPER QUEENS : KAMANGA’S PROUD PET PROJECT.
The current Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president and his team has a number of questions to answer. Some of the vehement criticism they received is at times self inflicted and while some of it richly unwarranted. In many ways that criticism is a product of the polarized nature of Zambian football today. You’re either pro Kamanga or pro Kalusha Bwalya.
However, whatever happens to Andrew Kamanga in the future. The progress of the women’s game should be credited to him and his team. The women’s game has risen from obscurity to heights not seen before in this country. That is down to the current FAZ administration.
The commentator in the Togo game could not stress enough how Zambia were the first team in Morocco. They didn’t sit idle either, FAZ quickly organized friendlies for the ladies and the attention to detail in that aspect is paying off as they seem fitter and more prepared than any team they face.
FAZ has also ensured the ladies are well motivated in a financial sense as well with figures only seen in the men’s game. This a result of Kamanga fostering better relationship with the Sport Minister and government in the past few months.
If their mistakes are put on blast. Then their achievements should receive equal applause.
