Seven people were yesterday said to have died in the flood that ravaged parts of Jigawa State following a torrential rainfall.
Thousands were forced from their homes, The Nation learnt.
Five persons died in Kirikasamma local government area while two died in Bulangu in Kafin Hausa local government area.
The Executive Secretary of the state’s Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Sani Yusif Babura said the “disaster affected several local government areas”.
Babura said many people sustained injuries and were admitted in hospital.
Houses, livestock, foodstuff and farm produce worth millions of naira at Ayama, Jura and Kafin Hausa towns were destroyed.
