The Senate, on Wednesday, screened Dr. Tella Adeniran Rahmo for appointment as the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State.
The screening came barely seven months after the Senate Committee on INEC recommended that the confirmation of the earlier nominee, Raheem Biodun Olalekan from Osun State for REC be stood down for further legislative action.
Dr. Adeniran who appeared before the Senate Committee on INEC, chaired by Senator Kabiru Gaya, is to replace Olalekan whose nomination was dropped following a petition that he was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC, Senator Kabiru Gaya, said the Committee, abiding with the rules of engagement in making sure that nominees are made go through a thorough investigation and intellectual capability to ensure that services rendered by them will be acceptable and in tandem with international standard.
Gaya said the Committee will communicate its position to the Senate for confirmation or rejection of the nominee.
Adeniran, a lecturer in Osun State University, faculty of Management Science, Department of Business Administration, holds PhD in Management Science.
