Did 23-year-old Chinonso Anene, a graduate of Business Administration from York University, Canada, kill himself? Where and how did he get the gun he allegedly used to shoot himself dead? What could have prompted him to do it?

These and many more are posers operatives of the Lagos Police Command are trying to resolve.

Anene allegedly shot himself dead around 8:30pm on Wednesday at his 9, Emmanuel Court, Olusegun Aina Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi apartment.

It was said that it was the gunshot that attracted neighbours who alerted the estate’s chief security officer (CSO).

The Nation gathered the police were also notified when neighbours discovered the door was locked inside .

It was learnt that detectives forced the door open and found Anene’s body in the wardrobe with gunshot injury.

Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin told The Nation that a pump action gun, a carton of unexpended and one used cartridge were recovered from the scene.

He said he body had been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

“It is too early to jump to conclusion. At the moment I do not know the motives nor do we have a clear picture of what transpired. I can tell you that investigations have commenced and we are not ruling out anything,” Hundeyin said .
