Rema and Omah Lay are two guys that came out of nowhere and made a mark on the industry.

Omah Lay’s been here for, what, two years? His consistency has been made since. He’s had the two hottest songs in the country for two years in a row (“Bad Influence,” “Godly”) and he has released two EPs already, edging most of his peers in numbers and influence.

His debut album is what some will say was long overdue. The album called “Boy Alone” was released about a week ago and is currently the number one album in the country.

The first single from the album was the hit track “Understand,” released last year, which he followed up with the Justin Bieber-assisted “Attention.” That was before releasing “Woman” weeks before the album release.

Rema’s debut album on the other hand was definitely long overdue by the time of release, considering he came a year before Omah Lay. Well, looks like they took their time on that one.

Rave and Roses,” was his first project since 2020’s “Rema Compilation.” A couple of singles were released (“Soundgasm,” “Bounce,” “Peace of Mind,” “Calm Down”), but only two of those made the album.

Rave & Roses” is without a doubt a good project and enough time has passed already. That is, if you’re not already feeling it, then you probably never will. But it’s hard not to feel a project like that. “Calm Down” is a huge hit, and Rema’s doing numbers overseas.

Anyway, this is it. The Omah Lay v. Rema debate all comes down to this. They’ve both given us more than one EP in the past, and countless hits, and now this is their debut album.

It’s safe to say whoever has the better album is the best artist of the two. So what’s it gonna be?
