Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has ordered the immediate closure of all brothels harbouring criminals in the state.
He also banned the wearing of face masks in public places for proper identification.
The governor said the action was taken to curb criminal activities in the state and to ensure that Kogi remains the safest state in the country.
He gave the order yesterday in Lokoja during a meeting with traditional leaders including chairpersons of the 21 council of the state.
Bello also ordered the demolition of shanties in the state, and the immediate removal of trailers parked within 30 metres on the right of way.
He directed the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Local Government Chairmen, union leaders and security agencies to meet with tricycle and motorcycle riders for proper documentation.
